Over the past decade, no one has defended more asbestos cases to verdict in Virginia’s courts than Brian and his colleagues at Moran Reeves & Conn. A shareholder in the firm, Brian focuses his practice on such product liability claims, as well as commercial litigation, in federal and state courts across the country.  With respect to his product liability practice, Brian has also successfully defended manufacturers, suppliers, and premises owners against personal injury and wrongful death claims stemming from exposure to benzene, mold, arsenic, lead paint, and other substances. Brian has become a frequent consultant to businesses regarding the unique features of maritime law and its expanding application to product liability claims brought on behalf of Navy sailors, commercial seamen, and shipyard workers.   Regarding his commercial practice, Brian’s clients have included multi-national real estate holding companies, telecommunications providers, software development enterprises, and small business owners in the community.

As former chair of the Appellate Practice section of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, Brian has likewise handled a number of significant appellate matters touching upon a variety of state, federal, and constitutional issues. Brian is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel and is chair of the Legislative Affairs section of the VADA., He has coordinated clients’ lobbying efforts on various issues in the Virginia General Assembly.

Brian is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell, and has been named several times as one of Virginia’s “Super Lawyers” in product liability litigation.  He is a regular author and speaker on product liability, maritime, and appellate issues. Brian is a member of both the Virginia and Georgia bars and is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of both jurisdictions, as well as in the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fourth, and Eleventh Circuits.
