Cathy Onder brings a diverse set of paralegal experience to the firm. Before joining Moran Reeves Conn in 2000, Cathy worked on a wide variety of tire, product liability, and insurance defense matters for the law firm of McGuireWoods. From approximately 1978 until 1983, Cathy was part of the regional counsel team for Firestone in the SBR 500 litigation. She was actively involved in document management projects in Akron, Pittsburgh and Richmond, and was a member of the regional discovery committee. She also assisted attorneys in the preparation and defense of tire cases, participating in more than 15 tire trials. In the mid-1990’s, Cathy was able to draw on her tire experience and assist in the coordination of cases for other manufacturers, such as Continental-General Tire and Uniroyal Goodrich Tire.
At Moran Reeves Conn, Cathy has continued her role as the firm’s lead tire paralegal. She assists in the national coordination of discovery for a major tire manufacturer and works with in-house counsel, MRC attorneys and attorneys throughout the country. In addition to her tire work, Cathy assists on other product liability cases, commercial litigation, and premises liability cases for a variety of clients. She also assists in the national coordination of asbestos defense for product manufacturers.
In addition to traditional paralegal skills, Cathy is widely recognized for her facility with computer systems. She has assisted in the design of trial presentation systems, working with a variety of vendors in that area and supporting a number of client/professional seminars. See e.g. “The Use of Computers in the Courtroom (Mock Trial),” Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, Roanoke, Virginia, 1999. In addition, Cathy has assisted in the design, installation, and use of a variety of computer systems for our tire clients. These systems range from document management programs to sophisticated extranets.
In her spare time, Cathy enjoys traveling, gardening and cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes.
