Katherine Schwieder is a member of the firm’s litigation practice group, where she focuses on medical malpractice defense and other litigation matters. Katherine defends all types of healthcare professionals, hospitals, private companies, practice groups, and specifically health care professionals in jails and prisons. Her practice includes healthcare and hospital risk management and administrative matters, including representation before the Commonwealth of Virginia’s healthcare regulatory boards. She also defends businesses in various complex civil matters, including commercial litigation, premises liability, personal injury, and landlord tenant matters.

Katherine earned her J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review Journal. During law school, Katherine interned at a mid-size civil defense firm and was a research assistant for a boutique healthcare law firm. She was also a summer intern for the Atlanta Legal Aid Society.

After graduating from law school, Katherine served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable John R. Doyle, III and the Honorable Joseph A. Migliozzi, Jr. of the City of Norfolk Circuit Court.
