Scott Harris is an associate in the firm’s complex litigation practice, where he represents clients across a broad spectrum of civil matters, including commercial litigation, products liability, toxic torts, labor and employment disputes, and medical malpractice defense. He also provides counsel on a range of regulatory and compliance issues, including medical personnel and facility certification, medical and legalized marijuana regulation, and corporate governance and human resources matters.
Before entering the legal field, Scott built a nearly two-decade career in the restaurant industry, where he held leadership roles in several of Richmond’s best-known establishments. From managing daily operations to overseeing multi-unit restaurant groups, Scott honed a deep understanding of business operations, people management, and regulatory compliance. Scott feels his hospitality experience informs his practical, business-minded approach to legal strategy.
Scott earned his J.D. from William & Mary Law School, where he served on the Journal of Race, Gender, and Social Justice and competed nationally as a member of the W&M National Trial Team, for which he was inducted into the Order of Barristers. He holds a degree in human resources management, summa cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
Outside the office, Scott enjoys time with his wife, Christin, and their two daughters. When not working, he’s often poolside at swimming meets, cheering proudly for his eldest daughter.
